Volunteers

The Double Bay Sanctuary has their own volunteer program. Since 2023, volunteers from all around the world come to the sanctuary to help with all that is needed. Think of building projects, housekeeping, cooking meals for the crew etc.

My time at the sanctuary was considered an internship for my study. Even though you could also consider me a volunteer. My main task was to make photos and document everything that was going on at and around the sanctuary, but when help was needed in the housekeeping, then I would drop my camera and help with the housekeeping.

Being a volunteer at the DBS is such an incredible and even more a recommendable experience. You will be welcomed by everyone as family, everyone takes great care of each other, you don't have to pay any rent for your stay, you gain so much knowledge and independence and you work for a great cause!

I had lots of fun capturing the volunteers with their works and it also shows how much fun everyone had at the sanctuary.
